Discalced Friars website goes 'Live'

Following the instruction of our Holy Father Pope Benedict, to make greater use of new technologies to advance the message of Christ, the Discalced Carmelite website for the Anglo Irish and Scotish region (ocd.ie) by the direction of the Discalced Carmelite Provincial (Fr. Jim Noonan), has being revamped with the intention of making our rich Charism more accessible and interactive to all our visitors. I must acknowledge that the great majority of this work had already been accomplished by Fr. Michael McGoldrick my predecessor who first started this venture many years ago and had built a library of material that makes up the bulk of our new site.

Br. Noel O'Connor OCD

This process has taken many long hours of dedicated work together with a vision and knowledge of our Carmelite Charism. The Discalced Carmelite Friars would very much like to thank John Fitzgerald and his team for their patient efforts and their sensitive appreciation and care for our way of life and message. Their expertise in web design and knowledge of how best to communicate through this medium has made our new site a place of welcome that we hope will aid the work of spreading the Carmelite message well into the future.

Fr. Jim Noonan (Provincial Anglo Irish Province).
